Storms? In the South of France?

As everyone knows, one of the best things about France is the sunny weather. Having said that, when a storm comes along, it hits you with everything its got, and is the most amazing thing to witness.

Of course, everyone loves coming to the South of France for the sun, but what not many people know, is that yes, we do sometimes have bad weather. Granted, most of the time it's blue skies and not a cloud in sight, but a couple of times a year, there's a big storm. Now, when I first moved to France, people always told me to look out for a storm, and if there was one, to go out in it! I had been wondering why on earth anyone would want to leave their warm sofa and cup of tea to go and stand outside in the rain during a storm, so I decided to give it a try.

Once outside, I understoof what they were talking about. The storm was in full swing but the wind was still warm, the sky was lighting up every few minutes with a strike of lightning and the birds were chirping away at the sound of the thunder. It was such an amazing experience to be standing outside in the storm, because it didn't feel like you were 'in' in, more like you were just a spectator watching it go crazy around you, in this little bibble.

So yes, the South of France is great thanks to the sun, but don't forget about the storms because they are definitely worth experiencing!
